Jon Anderson appointed as Project Director

Aug 3, 2021

We are delighted to announce that we have appointed a new Project Director to help deliver our ambitious growth strategy.

Jon Anderson will oversee the delivery of the Group’s major new developments across the Yorkshire region, including the next phase of Thorpe Park Leeds and Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.

His role will also include carrying out development appraisals, handling procurement and managing the construction process from inception through to completion.

Jon brings more than 24 years’ experience to the role, the last seven of which were spent at Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) where he was head of the Leeds office and regional lead for the Building Consultancy division for the North, working with the likes of Homes England, Drax Power and Hermes Parcelnet.  Prior to LSH he had spells at AA Projects, GVA, Sanderson Weatherall and Bucknall Austin. He has a degree in Building Surveying and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Chief Executive, Simon McCabe, said:

“Jon is a strong addition to the team and we are delighted he has joined us as Project Director. As a Group, we are enjoying an exciting period of growth with some truly transformational developments in the pipeline. Jon will play a crucial role in delivering these projects and helping us create a lasting legacy on the local communities and environments around them.”

Jon added:

“Throughout my life I have always strived to make a positive contribution to society, having been involved in various community-related initiatives, including being a board member for property industry charity, Land Aid. Scarborough Group’s philosophy of creating thriving spaces for people to live, work and enjoy, while giving back to the communities in which they operate really resonated with me and I’m excited and honoured to have the opportunity to build on the significant progress the Group has made to date.”

The Group has gained recognition for its transformational schemes across the North of England, with over 3 million sq ft of commercial/mixed-use space under development over 524 acres of land.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic the Group has maintained its ‘Keep Building’ ethos, continuing to deliver transformational schemes that breathe life back into the North’s former industrial heartland.

McCabe concluded:

“The scale of our development activities across the key northern cities of Sheffield, Manchester and Leeds is unparalleled, and reflects our commitment and ambition to the Northern Powerhouse.  We believe that these developments are aligned to deliver high quality work and living spaces to support the Government’s plans to relocate several Whitehall departments to the north of England as part of its ‘Levelling-up’ agenda.”
